A grant from the U.S. Department of Education will empower underrepresented Salem County high school students to earn college credits at Salem Community College (SCC).

Salem Community College’s Linda Marandola has earned the Dr. Peter B. Contini College Service Achievement Award, presented annually to a graduating student who addresses College issues, displays school spirit, and actively participates in campus clubs and activities.

Salem Community College’s Student Accounts Coordinator Sonia Bermudez earned the 2021 Arlene Kelley Service to Students Award. The Upper Deerfield resident is highly respected for her dedication, can-do spirit and positive attitude.

Bob Russell commemorated the 60th anniversary of Salem Community College’s renowned program in Scientific Glass Technology (SGT) by researching and chronicling its history. He was ideally suited for the assignment. He is a 1979 graduate and enjoyed a successful 39-year career in the glass industry.
