Pennsville’s Renee Ridgway signs letter of intent to play for SCC Mighty Oaks softball team

Salem Community College Athletics has announced that Pennsville Memorial High School senior Renee Ridgway has signed a letter of intent to play for the Mighty Oaks softball team, coached by Tori Danner.

Ridgway will major in education at SCC.  A four-year varsity letter winner, she is a right-handed pitcher and first baseman who earned 2018 second team All-Tri County Conference (Classic Division) as an infielder.

“We are so happy that our first committed student-athlete recruit, Renee Ridgway, is from one of our county schools,” said Director of Athletics Dr. Bob Bunnell.  “We hope that many more of our local high school student-athletes will consider Salem for their academic and athletic home for their first two years of college.”

Said Coach Danner, "We are so excited to have a versatile player like Renee on board and to continue to build up our program and SCC Athletics. Fall 2019 cannot come soon enough!"

SCC will resume Mighty Oaks Athletics in the 2019-2020 academic year with cross country, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball and softball.  For more information, contact Bunnell at bbunnell@salemcc.edu or 856.351.2239.
