Pittsgrove Twp. Middle and Upper Pittsgrove Township School reach Academic League Finals

Salem Community College recently hosted the Chambers Works Middle School Academic League Finals between Pittsgrove Township Middle School and Upper Pittsgrove Township School.

Pittsgrove Township with first-year coach John McCarson led the Red Division and Upper Pittsgrove led the Blue Division with coach Danielle Taulane.

“I congratulate both teams on reaching the finals,” said Nancy Anderson, Salem Community College Coordinator of Special Programs and Chairperson of the Salem County Bridge math/science committee.  “A special acknowledgement goes to Pittsgrove for taking home the championship trophy.”

The evening was led by Michael Ashworth and Amutha Jeyarajasingam from Chemours.  “Mr. Ashworth volunteers each year for the difficult job of reading the advanced questions to the amazing students to determine the champions,” said Anderson.

Salem County special events supporting education, like the Academic League, are made possible through the generous donations from both Chambers Works companies, DuPont and Chemours. This event is also supported by Salem Community College.
