A native Philadelphian, Danielle Ruttenberg attended Tyler School of Art and operated a glass art and fabrication business out of Port Richmond from 2007 to 2015. In 2016, she co-founded Remark Glass, a small business located in the revitalized Bok Building in South Philadelphia. Remark’s mission, through the creation of small batch home accessories made exclusively from discarded bottle glass, is to build a more sustainable artform and manufacturing practice. Ruttenberg plays an active role in her community at Bok, and in organizations like the Sustainable Business Network. As a working mother, she finds that cooperative business practices and supporting other small businesses fosters and strengthens the local economy, and in turn, promotes her own business.
