SCC’s Lamar Woody earns conference first team basketball honors
Salem Community College Mighty Oaks’ freshman guard Lamar Woody earned first-team honors for the Garden State Athletic Conference, following the 2019-2020 men’s basketball season.
Woody averaged 25.7 points per game, tallying 668 points. He scored an impressive season-high 50 points in a home win against Atlantic Cape Community College. He also totaled 101 assists.
"I am very proud of Lamar as he is getting the recognition he deserves for his success this season,” said Head Coach A.J. Williams. “This is just a testament to his dedication, passion for the game and hard work which paid off all year. Lamar represented himself, his family, Salem Community College and our basketball program the right way both on and off the court. We're blessed to have him. I'm excited to see him work this off season."
The Garden State Athletic Conference is part of the National Junior College Athletic Association's Region 19 (community colleges in New Jersey, eastern Pennsylvania and Delaware).
