The Salem Community College Glass Club will host a Beads of Courage bead-making and fund-raising event on Sunday, Oct. 27, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The free event will be held at the recently opened Samuel and Jean Jones Glass Education Center, 460 Hollywood Ave., Carneys Point. The center is located behind Lot A.
Beads of Courage is a nonprofit organization that supports courageous children during their cancer treatments. As children receive beads during their treatments, they accumulate the beads on large strands that make visible their brave journey. The students, faculty, staff and special guests will be keeping the center’s 42 torches lit throughout the entire day to produce as many beads as possible for these amazing kids.
The SCC Glass Club will sell work during the event with 25 percent of all sales going to Beads of Courage. “We encourage all to join us to cheer on our students, support this incredible organization and tour this extraordinary new facility,” said Glass Education Administrator Kristin Deady.
