What type of nursing programs does SCC offer?

Practical Nursing Certificate

• One year program prepares you to sit for NCLEX - PN (State Boards)
• For students that do NOT have a LPN license

Practical Nursing Certificate

Associate in Applied Science Degree

• One year program prepares you to sit for NCLEX - RN (State Boards)
• For students who are licensed practical nurses (LPNs)

Associate in Applied Science Degree

NOTE: The deadline for consideration to the 2021-2022 Nursing program has now passed. Information for the 2022-2023 program will become available in Summer 2021. Please note that any information found on this website currently is for the 2021-2022 program. Admissions criteria varies each year, so please revisit the website when the new materials are posted.

If you are interested in enrolling in courses at SCC prior to the next Nursing cohort starting June 2022, please complete our free admissions application at www.salemcc.edu/apply and select "Health Science" as your desired major. This will allow you to enroll in general education courses prior to applying for the Nursing program. If you have any questions, please contact admissions@salemcc.edu.

The Practical Nursing program and Associate Degree Nursing program at Salem Community College meets the state education requirements for a practical nursing certificate in nursing and a registered nursing license in the states of New Jersey and Delaware. Salem Community College has not determined if the practical nursing certificate and the registered nursing program at Salem Community College meets the state education requirements in any other state or any U.S. Territory. Contact the state regulatory agency for nursing in any other state for which this information is needed.
