Nuclear Energy Technology

Associate in Applied Science

Nuclear power is a clean energy that plays a major role in the US and accounts for about 20% of total electricity generated.  If you have a strong interest in clean energy alternatives, electricity or nuclear technologies, this is the program for you! Our program provides students with a solid foundation in basic scientific principles, mathematics, theory, and the materials and equipment necessary to work in the nuclear technology field. A strong emphasis is placed on nuclear safety and procedures.

Students who successfully complete the program may pursue entry-level careers as Nuclear Technicians or Nuclear Operators. Although the program is not designed for transfer, some credits may be transferrable to a 4-year institution for advanced studies.
