President's Message
Greetings from Your SCC President,
First and foremost, this is your Salem Community College – the affordable, quality, empowering, and personalized educational opportunity. SCC is a great place to be and this is a great time to be here.
You and your fellow students pursue a college education in order to find a pathway to a fulfilling and lucrative career. I am no different than you, as I pursued my dreams at Burlington County College, now Rowan College of Burlington County, I was in search of my first real career position as a teacher. Graduating with an Associates in 1973 (and yes, I look far too young to be this old), I went on to obtain my Bachelors, Masters, and eventually doctorate degrees. It all started with the opportunity afforded me through a community college.
While on campus, take a few minutes and wander the lobby area of Davidow Hall. Along the back wall you will see portraits of our Distinguished Alumni. These are all people who took advantage of opportunities offered at your Salem Community College. Each has achieved significantly in their career, and community service pursuits.
In 2019 we brought athletics back to the College. This has given student athletes an opportunity to compete in sports while obtaining an Associate degree. We boast Men’s and Women’s Basketball in the winter; with Softball and Baseball in the spring; and cross country, Women’s Volleyball (new), and football (new) in the fall. This may be your chance to extend your sports career while acquiring academic credit.
While we have a great deal of amenities to make your collegiate experience fulfilling, the essence of what we do takes place in the classroom (physically or virtually) between students and their instructors. We have small classes to ensure you get individualized attention. Our full-time and adjunct faculty are highly qualified in their fields, and always put students first. They will know your name, they will return your calls/emails, and they will help guide you toward success.
