Sheryl Trippel
Meet the SCC Nursing Faculty/Staff
Sheryl Trippel, MSN, APN, NP-C, Instructor of Nursing, teaches nursing theory and nursing laboratory in the PN program. Sheryl began her career at Salem Community College as a Clinical Instructor for the ADN program in 2020 and transitioned to full-time faculty in the Summer of 2024. Prior to becoming a nurse, she volunteered at the VA Hospital in Delaware while attending nursing school at RCSJ. She worked for several years as an RN in the emergency Department at Inspira Elmer and Vineland before attending Wilmington University where she obtained her BSN, graduating Summa Cum Laude. During her time with Inspira, she was active with the Magnet Committee, serving as an ambassador during the hospital's Magnet Recertification. She then went on to achieve her MSN as a Family Nurse Practitioner, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2019. Sheryl's honors include President's List for academic achievement, multiple scholarship awards and membership in the Sigma Theta Tau and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Societies. During her master's program, Sheryl had the opportunity to travel to the Dominican Republic on a medical mission, which was a highlight of her years as a student. As a nurse practitioner, Sheryl has worked in the Family Medicine setting, Emergency Department and Urgent Care. She has served as a preceptor and mentor for RN and nurse practitioner students from various programs and enjoys teaching all levels of learners. In addition, Sheryl currently works as a Nurse Practitioner at AFC Urgent Care in Washington Township, NJ.
She has been married to her husband, Brian, for 20 years and has three children. Her son, Jake, is an BSN, RN and works in the ICU setting, her daughter, Alexis, is currently an engineering student at Virginia Tech, and her youngest daughter, Rachael, is in nursing school.
