Renee Gieswein

Renee Gieswein, EdD, MSN, RN  is a full time Instructor of Nursing, teaching nursing theory, nursing laboratory, and clinical rotations in the ADN program. She received the Outstanding Graduate Award in the Nurse Education Track from Drexel University. Dr. Gieswein has over twenty years’ experience as a bedside nurse in a variety of clinical areas including Women’s Health, Emergency Department, and Intensive Care Nursery. During her time as a staff nurse at Pennsylvania Hospital, Dr. Gieswein was a founding member of the hospital’s Shared Governance Night Council and the inaugural Chair. Dr. Gieswein has co-presented posters at the 2016 Magnet Nursing Conference and at the 2017 Relationship Based Care Conference on her work as part of the night council. Renee is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau Nu Chapter and the National League for Nursing. She completed her Doctor of Education at Wilmington University in 2022. Renee’s current areas of interest are in areas of clinical education, simulation and preparing nurses to transition to the role of instructor. Outside of nursing, Dr. Gieswein lives in Franklinville, NJ with her two children, her grandmother, and several pets.
