What does the NFL have in common with your Salem Community College? We get to start over with a clean slate. Within the first week, half of the NFL teams will be on their way to a disappointing season; however, here at SCC we will be on a winning streak throughout the year. There are several reasons why:

• First, Niche.com, a well-reputed college-ranking service, has cited SCC as the highest- rated community/county college in Southern New Jersey (below Interstate 195) again. SCC is second overall in the state (Brookdale in Monmouth County is first). Don’t accept this as a sense of contentment on the part of SCC. The fact is, we are like the old Avis rental car commercials – We Try Harder Because We Are #2!
• Second, our nursing programs are exemplary. Again, our LPN program is ranked #1 across all colleges in New Jersey by practicalnursing.org. Also, our nurses consistently score very high on the Nursing Boards. The 2023 Associate Degree Nursing Program NCLEX pass rate is 100% and the Practical Nursing NCLEX pass rate is 97.92%. We have outstanding nursing programs, and our graduates are in demand.
• Third, we are the M.I.T of the glassblowing world. SCC offers the best program in the world (experts would concur) and it is the only degree-oriented program in scientific glassblowing. In fact, we are the only degree-awarding program in the world of scientific glass. The Art Glass program is also beyond compare.
• Fourth, more than 90% of our students who apply to Rowan University are accepted by Rowan University. That makes us competitive or better than all other community colleges seeking transfer to Rowan University.
• Finally, our students appreciate the individualized and tailored attention they receive from their instructors, advisors, administrators, and the staff in general. Survey information from last year indicates our students are very pleased with their SCC experience and would recommend SCC to others.
